Re: Indefinite postponement of the General Polling and Annual Election 2013
The General Polling no.16 for Session 2012 is hereby announced to be indefinitely postponed until further notice.
Under Union Constitution Section V, Union sub-organizations have duty shall deem it their duty to publicize all General Pollings of to be held. However, a number of Union sub-organizations have unreasonably refused to take up this duty to publicize and assist the conduct of the said no.16 General Polling. Such acts have caused the General Polling practically unable to continue and made Union Members incapable of expressing their views toward the motion concerned. As a result, the Chairperson of the Union Council has decided to indefinitely postpone the General Polling and suspend all conduct for Polling preparation until further notice.
For the Annual Election 2013, the Union Elections Committee has decided to postpone the conduct until further notice. Since the Chairperson of the Union Council has decided to extend the General Polling for appointment of the Returning Officers for Annual Election 2013, the whole election results are pending the outcomes of the Polling, which is a mandate required under the Union Constitution. Any further conduct for the Annual Election 2013 will, same as the above General Polling, be suspended.
