Dear Council Chairperson & Chan Koon Hong,
Concerning the motion of no confidence of CC and HS proposed by Adrian (AS), we hereby urge CC again to convene ECM11 on or before 18/2/2013 provided the stipulation Section VII Article 8(d) of the Constitution,
“In the event of a proposed motion of no-confidence moving against the Chairperson of the Union Council, if the Chairperson does not convene the Union Council Meeting within fourteen days upon receipt of the notice in part (b), the following Union Council Members shall, in accordance with the below priority rules, convene the Meeting to consider the motion upon a requisition signed by not less than one-thirds of the Union Council Members:
i) The President of the previous Union Session
ii) The President of the Union
iii) A Union Council Member elected among those signing the requisition”.
In case of the dereliction of duty of CC who did not follow the above section, we hereby request Chan Koon Hong, who has become the President of the previous Union Session on 18/2/2013, to convene ECM11 on 19/2/2013.
Since there is no elected Executive Committee of the HKUSU in the coming session, the President of the Union is vacant as of 18/2/2013. Therefore, if none of the above requested meetings were called, we will follow the above section and elect a Union Council Member among those signing the requisition to call ECM11, which will be convened on 19/2/2013 at 6:30p.m. in G/F Foyer of the Union Building.
The voice of our members clearly indicates the dissatisfaction to CC and HS, we strongly demand an ECM to settle the related issue and discuss the motion proposed by Adrian as stated above.
